Karl Voit studied Telematics at Graz University of Technology. He worked in the automotive industry and led an IT department before wroting a PhD at Graz University of Technology in the field of Personal Information Management. After leaving academia, he was co-responsible for a large software product and worked as a technical Consultant in the fashion industry (RFID). Currently, Karl Voit is responsible for IT security as well as compliance for a large service for the German health system.
In his spare time, Karl Voit shares his knowledge through blogging about technical topics such as Personal Information Management, IT security as well as free and open software products like the GNU Emacs with Org-mode. He has given numerous lectures, workshops and made several contributions to scientific topic in the national radio broadcast station. He was invited guest for radio contributions, panel discussions and podcasts. His expertise in Personal Information Management has also led him to hold lectures at St. Pölten University of Applied Science and Graz University of Technology.
Karl Voit is dedicated to promoting ethical digital culture in events around Graz, where he holds executive positions in “graz.social – Association for the Promotion of Ethical Digital Culture” and “Association for the Promotion of Digital Typesetting.”
